The assessment of extension of time (EOT) claims as part of a construction project can have far-reaching consequences for the financial success of the project. The proper and transparent assessment of EOT claims is therefore an essential component in the success of any project. To address this important need, a user-friendly tool to guide practitioners in the assessment of EOT claims has recently been develop as part of a ground breaking research project. The main aim of the course is to provide an overview of the recently developed decision support framework to simplify and streamline the EOT assessment process. The following main elements will be dealt with:

 

·       Types of construction delays

·       Causes of construction delays

·       Contractual compliance in terms of EOT claims

·       JBCC decision support framework for EOT claims

·       GCC decision support framework for EOT claims

·       FIDIC decision support framework for EOT claims

This course is brought to you by Dr HF Prinsloo who holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, a Master of Science in Real Estate, and a PhD on the subject matter of this course.
