FIRST EVENT FOR 2010 SHARED VIA WEBINAR TO OUTLYING AREAS
The ASAQS KZN Chapter held a very successful event on 25 March 2010 at The Westville Hotel. What made this event even more exciting was that the outer lying regions namely, South Coast, Pietermaritzburg and Zululand, were able to join in on the event via webinar, made possible by CCN. Not only was this event supported by the KZN Quantity Surveyors but the invitation was extended to the Engineers and Architects of KZN as well.
The topic of the evening was "Concrete – Its Greener Than You Think" which was presented by John Roxburgh of the Cement and Concrete Institution (C&CI). The presentation sparked much interest and it was amazing to learn how far progressed concrete has become in terms of sustainability and "green". The presentation was preceded by presentations from our sponsor, Flowcrete, who gave us more insight into their products and services, as well as IDT, informing us of their strategies and how we as Quantity Surveyors can be of service to them.
Overall, most delegates enjoyed the evening and have reported to the committee that it was very interesting.
The ASAQS KZN Chapter would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsor, Flowcrete, for making the event possible.
