 ASAQS MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

 

 

1.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBER - PMAQS:

 

Any person who is registered with one of the following organisations:

  • The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) in the professional category (PrQS),
  • The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in either the fellow or member categories (FRICS/ MRICS).

 

 

2.

MEMBER – MAQS:

 

Any person with one of the following qualifications:

  • B Sc (QS) (Hons) / Construction Management
  • B Sc (QS) / Construction Management
  • B Tech (QS) / Construction Management
  • National Higher Diploma in Building (discontinued 1995)

 

 

3.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER – AAQS:

 

Any person with one of the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Building
  • QCP Certificate (240 credits) (from the UFS)
  • CSBS Certificate (120 credits) (from the UFS)
  • 3-year post matriculation qualification
  • 2-year post matriculation qualification
  • 1-year post matriculation qualification
  • or at the discretion of the Membership Committee if the person has had a number of years approved experience in the Building Industry

 

 

4.

STUDENT ASSOCIATE – SAAQS:

 

Any student studying a relevant and approved qualification.

MEMBERS

A pre-requisite for becoming a member of the Association is that the applicant should be in possession of an acceptable qualification from a tertiary institution in the field related to the Quantity Surveying profession. Provided this pre-requisite is satisfied, then the procedure to be followed to become a member of the Association is a relatively speedy and simple process. PRACTICES

Practices can download a registration form by clicking here.
