The Scheme was approved by the Registrar of Medical Schemes on the 9th November 2002 and will come into effect on the 1st January 2003. The Regulations require that the Scheme should have a minimum of 6 000 members within 3 months. As the members of SAACE, SAIA and ASAQS stand to benefit from participation, we are confident that this target will be reached.

Reaching the end of a job interview, the senior partner asked a young QS fresh out of varsity, "What starting salary were you looking for?"

The young QS replied, "In the neighbourhood of R125,000 a year,
depending on the benefits package."

The partner said, "Well, what would you say to a package of
5 weeks vacation, full medical aid, company matching retirement fund to 50% of salary, and a new company car every 2 years - say a BMW 540 to start you off?"

The QS sat up straight and said, "Wow! Are you kidding?"
