The Scheme was approved by the Registrar of Medical Schemes on the 9th November 2002 and will come into effect on the 1st January 2003. By their own admission, it was one of the best researched and prepared applications they have ever received – congratulations Vincent!

The Regulations require that the Scheme should have a minimum of 6 000 members within 3 months. As the members of SAACE, SAIA and ASAQS stand to benefit from participation, we are confident that this target will be reached.

Information and application forms are available on line at http://www.sovhealth.co.za/web/bepmeds/index.htm

Further queries about the scheme should be addressed to Vincent Knox at (012) 460 0430 (mobile 083 676 0124).

DID YOU HEAR ?

A small gift...

On the last day of kindergarten, all the children brought presents for their teacher. The florist's son handed the teacher a gift. She shook it, held it up and said, "I bet I know what it is - it's some flowers!"

"That's right!" shouted the little boy.

Then the candy store owner's daughter handed the teacher a gift. She held it up, shook it and said. "I bet I know what it is - it's a box of chocolates!"

"That's right!" shouted the little girl.

The next gift was from the liquor store owner's son, little Johnny. The teacher held it up and saw that it was leaking. She touched a drop with her finger and tasted it.

"Is it wine?" she asked. "No," little Johnny answered.

The teacher touched another drop to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," he answered.

Finally, the teacher said, "I give up. What is it?"

Little johnny replied, "A puppy!"
