Webinar overview:
This two-part webinar will provide delegates with an overview of the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) as well as the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management (FIDPM). 
Delegates will gain insight into the following: 

  • The Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS)
  • The Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management (formerly known as the SIPDM)
  • The Standard for Uniformity (SFU)
  • The process maps contained in the IDMS
  • How planning and budgeting is conducted in the context of infrastructure delivery in government
  • Operations and Maintenance of infrastructure assets in government
  • Project Management of infrastructure projects in government

At the end of the webinar delegates will have a high-level understanding of the IDMS and will know where the various professions can contribute to the process of infrastructure delivery in the public sector.
 
Webinar presenter
Peter Brook is a registered Professional Civil Engineering Technologist and certified PMP (Project Management Professional) with the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is also a certified MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) Practitioner.

Peter has over 25 years of experience with a background in civil engineering and project management mainly on development projects. He has a mix of both private and public sector experience as well as programme and project level experience. In 2004 Peter was appointed as the programme manager of the Infrastructure Delivery Improvement Programme (IDIP) in the National Treasury. During this time the earliest versions of the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) were developed.

For the past 12 years Peter has been contracted as a long-term technical advisor to the Government Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC) within the National Treasury where he has managed numerous projects in support of a wide range of departments in all 3 spheres of Government. Peter has maintained his contact with the team responsible for the ongoing improvements to the IDMS and is a regular presenter of the 5-day executive IDMS course run by the University of Pretoria.
