Course Overview:

Almost all construction projects experience delays. Delays on construction projects have significant time and cost implications. The assessment and management of construction delay claims can have far-reaching consequences. Unexpected events, like the COVID-19 pandemic, complicates the assessment of delays and disruptions on the construction process. This practical course will equip you with the tools to simplify the process of delay claim analysis to confidently handle delay claims.

Course presenter:

This course is brought to you by Dr HF Prinsloo who holds a PhD on the subject matter of the course. He is the author of Delay Analysis Simplified – A Step-by-Step Guide for the Analysis and Formulation of Delay Claims, a popular book on delay claims. The book is available in 13 countries and will soon be available in South Africa. He has extensive experience as a practicing project manager, academic lecturer, delay claim consultant, and expert witness. He is a qualified construction adjudicator and international speaker on delay claim analysis. 

Programme Description:
The course will provide an overview of the content of the book - Construction Delays Analysis Simplified and will deal with the following:

Delays and delay analysis – The basics
Predominant causes of delay
       * Results of 17 international research studies on delays
Contractual consequences of delays analysis – JBCC, FIDIC & GCC
Delay analysis – A practical approach 
Advanced delay analysis concepts – Float ownership, concurrent delays, etc.
COVID-19 delays 
Delay prevention & mitigation

To earn your CPD Hours for attending a webinar you are required to:
• Register and pay for the event
• Be present online for the duration of the webinar
• When the webinar is presented in parts, be present online for each part
• Participate by completing the “Polls”, and making use of the “Q&A” and/or the “Chat” functions
• Meeting these requirements will ensure that you receive an attendance certificate on completion of the webinar, or all the parts thereof when presented in parts

How are these requirements monitored?
• The webinar software records the time that you enter, and the time that you leave the webinar, providing proof of presence
• It also records every time you make use of the “Chat” or “Q&A” function and when you complete a “Poll”, all providing proof of participation
• The software identifies you by your e-mail address. To ensure the accuracy of your records, please use the same e-mail address when joining a webinar, or all the parts thereof when presented in parts
