You can establish your Intercultural Awareness Profile, receive a free report and at the same time assist a student with his research. 

The profile report will help you to understand your own cultural orientation and can contribute to developing your awareness, knowledge and skills for cross-cultural management.

Research Questionnaire:

Investigating national cultural dimensions within the Construction Project Industry in South Africa

Dear Participant


You have been selected to participate in this research study because of your experience and expertise within construction project management industry. This research study is being conducted by Marcos Leite, a Masters student from The Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology in the Graduate School of Technology Management at the University of Pretoria, under the supervision of Prof. Yvonne du Plessis.


This study aims to determine the relationship between South Africa’s national cultural norms and the ideal construction project management norms as per F. Trompenaars’ theories and models in the construction industry. This has the potential to create awareness between these two dimensions.


Kindly answer ALL the questions as your valuable input will assist me in completing this study successfully. This questionnaire comprises of two parts:


(1) THT Questionnaire: This will take approximately 30-40 minutes. On completion of part 1of the questionnaire you will receive an Intercultural Awareness Profile (IAP) which will help you to understand your own cultural orientation and can contribute to developing your awareness, knowledge and skills of cross-cultural management.


(2) Biographical Information: This will be e-mailed to you within 7 days of completion of the first questionnaire. This questionnaire will take approximately 3 minutes.

Answers will be treated as confidential. The accuracy of the findings will depend on your truthful input, therefore please kindly provide accurate answers. The results of this research study will be used for academic purposes in partial fulfilment of the requirements for a dissertation for a Master’s of Science in Technology Management, and may be published in an academic journal.

This will take you to the first page of the Intercultural AwarenessProfile Questionnaire, with the instructions on how to complete it. Please be aware that once you start the questionnaire you cannot save your answers mid-way and start again, you must complete the questionnaire in one go.

4. Upon completion, you will receive a 'rejoin' link to your profile in your e-mail box which will provide you access to your own Intercultural Awareness Profile scores.
