Onesimo DhliwayoEarly age and Influences
Born in Zimbabwe 1962 Onesimo Dhliwayo completed his early schooling years in Catholic Schools, before moving to South Africa to pursue tertiary studies, a BSC Quantity Surveying and MBA studies focusing on Strategy at the then University of Natal. 
Onesimo has had an extensive involvement in the property and infrastructure development world. Starting off at consulting firms Randall & MacLennan and SBDS & Stewart - all consulting Quantity Surveying Firms, and later moving to Development Agencies: Siyakhana Consulting and Urban Foundation.
He has worked on the Urban Development Feasibilities on the Durban’s Point Waterfront Development Scheme.
Adjudicator on Developmental Projects: the Department of Minerals and Energies Peaking Peak Power Stations Ushaka Marine Park etc.
Currently a Managing Member of the Quantity Surveying and Development firm, DP Quantity Surveyors, Onesimo has led the firm through notable projects, Durban’s Suncoast Casino and Hotel Developments, Eskom’s Commercial Projects and a number of Public Sector Initiatives on Job Creation (EPWP and BBBEE initiatives).
Avid advocate for cleanliness, Onesimo is a patron of the Ethekwini Municipality’s Clean Communities Drive, being Trustee of the Ethekwini based Clean Communities Trust
Onie is a strong believer in the power of Associations in championing organizational development, viewing then as “families” that mould and give mettle to members!
Onesimo has served the Association from Chapter level, very passionate about professional development and training. Always advocating the case for the Quantity Surveyor to come forward and support the country’s Major Infrastructure Development.
With this passion, Onesimo believes the Quantity Surveyor’s optimal contribution will be buoyed by their technical know-how and visibility, both of which will be the main focus of the ASAQS going forward. 
Family and pastime
Onesimo is married and has five children, four lovely girls and one boy.
Passionate about reading and gardening.
When time permits, a round of Golf completes his week at the Royal Durban Golf Club.
