In SMM6 paintwork in colours which had a value of 7 or less on the Munsell system in accordance with the relevant SABS specification was given separately or may have been given as an extra over paintwork in other colours.
The Natural Colour System (NCS), is a logical colour notation system which builds on how humans see colour The South African Standard (SANS 1091),adopted the NCS in 2004. The Standard System of Measuring Builders Work Seventh Edition aligned itself with the national standard and MR 4 now makes provision that paintwork shall be classified in the various colour groups of "White", "Pastel", "Deep" and "Transparent".
